About Amanda Martin
Amanda Martin, BSc, MSc, CAP 2, has trained extensively with Alexandra Kurland, and internationally renowned clicker training experts, to gain a superior knowledge of Clicker Training Horses and advance her knowledge of Classical Dressage.
Her Bachelor´s degree in Physiology has helped Amanda to assess horses from a physiological perspective. Her Master´s Degree in Forensic Science (which requires superior attention to detail), her ever expanding knowledge of learning theory, equine behavioural training and extensive experience of clicker training animals have all combined her to develop a keen eye for balance and cadence in horses. Specialising in problem horse behaviours Amanda has had her skills tested to the limits and has manged to help many more horses as a result.
Amanda knows how to teach good balance and cadence through positive training that engages the horse creating a willing and enthusiastic partnership. Applying her dedication to understanding the detail and ability to search for the truth at every level of horsemanship she brings you the best training possible.
Continued Professional Development
As a clicker training specialist with Dogs and Horses, clicker training teacher for dogs and horses and horse behaviourist, Amanda ensures her knowledge of clicker training and the evolving understanding of learning theory (science) behind the training is as up to date as possible.
Amanda has completed training and courses with a number of horse and dog trainers. She continues to work with many of these trainers and attends ClickerExpo (Karen Pryor) each year to ensure she continues to advance her kowledge and bring you the best training possible.
Some of the trainers Amanda has worked with are; Alexandra Kurland, Kay Laurence, Karen Pryor, Elaine Herbert, James Shaw, Natural Animal Center and more. She continues to develop her knowledge; currently studying various classical dressage trainers, NLP, detailed equine behaviour, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of both learning and disease, and more.
Among her qualifications are ABRS and TRSS Level 1, CAP 2 (Kay Laurence) gaining Distinction of Merit, she is currently completing a UK Coaching Certificate, is an accredited Horse Agility trainer, is training to be a TREC Judge and is studying with the Animal Care College. Amanda is also a Full Member of APDT.
